Transformed Academy offers comprehensive beauty professional training through a structured, high-quality cosmetology school education rooted in excellence, integrity, and skill development. Our program combines hands-on training, technical mastery, and real-world salon experience, equipping every student to enter the industry with confidence.

At Transformed Academy, students receive a comprehensive education that prepares them for the Virginia DPOR cosmetology licensing exam and equips them for real-world salon success. Our beauty professional training includes a 1,000-hour cosmetology program that covers essential skills such as: hair cutting, shaping, and barbering fundamentals; chemical services including color, relaxers, and perms; natural hair care and protective styling; braids, extensions, and silk press techniques; skin care and basic esthetics; nail care, manicures, and sanitation; and salon professionalism along with business foundations. We also focus on state board preparation and mock testing. Our instruction combines theory, demonstrations, supervised hands-on practice, and real client experience inside Transformed LLC Salon.

We provide flexible training pathways for aspiring beauty professionals, allowing students to pursue their Virginia DPOR cosmetology license while balancing work and family commitments.

Monday – Friday

5:00 PM – 10:00 PM

Saturday Skills Lab (as scheduled)

This time is utilized for additional hands-on practice, makeup, or to catch up on missed hours at our cosmetology school.

Scholarships

Limited scholarships ranging from $500 to $3,295 are available to help reduce costs for eligible students. Awards vary and can significantly lower tuition. Applications for these scholarships open quarterly.

Payment Plans

We provide flexible payment options to help students achieve their career goals:

Students may choose to pay weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or in full.

While financial aid is not currently offered, scholarships and community support options may be available through local partners and Resource Inc., our nonprofit organization.

Enrollment Policies & Requirements

To ensure every student is prepared for success in their beauty professional training, Transformed Academy maintains the following admission standards and policies:

Admission Requirements

All applicants must:

- Be at least 18 years of age

- Provide a valid government-issued photo ID

- Submit a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent

- Complete the online application (Step 1)

- Attend an admissions interview

- Pay the $250 registration/enrollment fee

Attendance Requirement

The Virginia DPOR requires 1,000 instructional hours for cosmetology licensure. 

Students must:

- Attend all scheduled theory and practical classes

- Clock in / Check In and out properly

- Make up missed hours before program completion

- Follow all sanitation and safety procedures

Professional Conduct

Students are expected to maintain a positive, respectful, and professional environment at all times. This includes:

- Appropriate attire

- Respectful communication

- Cleanliness and sanitation

- Commitment to learning

- Accountability for behavior and performance

Failure to adhere to professionalism may result in warnings or dismissal.

Financial Responsibility

Students are required to:

- Fulfill their payment plan agreements

- Pay the enrollment fee before the first day

- Maintain good financial standing to continue attending

- Understand that kit and textbook fees are non-refundable once issued

Withdrawal & Refund Policy

Refunds follow the guidelines outlined in the Student Enrollment Agreement.

Students withdrawing from the program must:

- Complete a formal withdrawal form

- Return any unused items (as applicable)

- Understand that completed hours may be transferred to another DPOR-approved school

State Board Preparation

All students will complete:

- A theory prep course

- Practical mock exams

- Pre-State Board evaluations

- Review of sanitation and safety protocols

Our goal is to graduate students from our cosmetology school who are fully prepared to pass the Virginia State Board exam on their first attempt.

To enroll in our cosmetology school and begin your journey in beauty professional training, students must: Be at least 18 years old, Provide a valid ID, Submit proof of high school diploma or GED, Complete an enrollment application and interview, and Pay the enrollment fee to reserve their seat with Virginia DPOR cosmetology.
